BANGOR CITY 3 Garside 38, Reed 39, Edwards 65 RHYL 1 M.Williams 82(pen)
Two of Rhyl's former players heaped misery on the club with a goal each for worth winners Bangor City. Craig Garside opened broke the deadlock on 38 minutes heading in Jebb's cross and just a minute later Jamie Reed doubled the lead for the home team. Rob Turner headed against the bar for Rhyl after the break, but Bangor stormed into a 3-0 lead on 65 minutes when another ex-Rhyl player Lee Hunt set up Sion Edwards.
The scoreline could have been much worse if it wasn't for great saves from Cudworth but there was a late consolation goal for Rhyl on 82 minutes when Matty Williams scored from the penalty spot following a foul on Turner but things turned even more sour in the last minute when Phil Doran was given his marching orders. Not exactly an ideal start for a new look side but Greg Strong will still be confident his players can perform good enough for the rest of the season to finish in the top three.
